Love to draw? Always wanted to draw? Whatever your skill level, join us for this fun, no-pressure, hands-on workshop — supplies included. Beginners will learn to use a watercolor kit, pen, and portable water-filled brush to mix colors and create simple graphic records of everyday life. More advanced participants will be provided with examples of other artists' journals and encouraged to explore and experiment with new styles and techniques. Weekly exercises will introduce all participants to a range of drawing and painting techniques, such as: getting realistic perspective without stressing out; creating a watercolor wash; using table salt to dapple color; hand lettering; making "box pops" and other graphic elements, and much more. Some examples of illustrated journals are Amanda Kavanagh and Christina Lopp and Gay Kraeger.
